Eugene A. Bisantz, Retired City Assessor
A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene A. Bisantz, 85, a retired Buffalo senior city assessor, will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Cathedral, 50 Franklin St.
Bisantz died Wednesday (April 14, 1993) after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo in 1907, he played football at Lafayette High School and attended the University of Buffalo. He joined the city treasurer's office in 1930 and was city paymaster before moving to the assessor's office in 1948. He retired in 1971.
He was a member of the International Institute of Assessing Officers and the Fire Bell Club of Buffalo. A Fourth Degree Knight in the Father Baker Council, Knights of Columbus, he was a former member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Angels Church and a member of the First Friday Club. He and his wife, the former Anne Jordan, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1984.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, retired Lt. Col. Anthony E. Bisantz of Moline, Ill., and John W. Bisantz of Kenmore; three daughters, Mary E. Bisantz of Albany, and Sister Martha Anne Bisantz and Jean Patricia Caldiero; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in United German and French Cemetery, Cheektowaga. |
