Obituary, Times-Picayune Saturday, April 22, 2000:
Carmine "Charlie" Palermo, a retired mail carrier, died Wednesday of a stroke in Nashville, Tenn. He was 88. Mr. Palermo was born in Buffalo, N.Y.; lived in New Orleans for 20 years; Shreveport for 30 years; and in Nashville for the past six years. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include two daughters, Carmelee Thorpe of New Orleans and Rose Palermo, and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at noon at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery. |
