    FENNIE - In Lackawanna, N.J., Jan 9, 1937, Anna, beloved wife of the late James; mother of Joseph, Mrs. Harvey Walter, Mrs. Douglas Pierce and the late Edgar Fennie. Funeral from the residence of her son, Joseph Fennie, 111 Rosary avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:15, and from Our Lady of Victory basilica at 10 o’clock. Friends invited.

    LACKAWANNA. Rites for Mrs. Fennie Are Conducted Today.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Anne Fennie, 71, of 111 Rosary avenue, Lackawanna, were held this morning in the family residence and in Our Lady of Victory basilica. Mrs. Fennie died Saturday in Our Lady of Victory hospital after a month’s illness. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.
    Born in Scranton, PA., Mrs. Fennie came to Lackawanna 35 years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish, the Ladies’ Aid society and the Ladies’ Catholic Benevolent association. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Emilie Walters of Buffalo, and Mrs. Douglas Pierce, of Orchard Park; one son, Lieut. Joseph J. Fennie, of hte Lackawanna Police department, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Conly, of Scranton, Pa.

    Notes 
    • Her maiden name “Gurrell” is mentioned in her husband’s 1912 obituary. Her obituary mentions a sister, Elizabeth Conly, in Scranton. Elizabeth Gurrell Conley died in Scranton in 1953, the daughter of John Gurrell and Margaret Donahoe.

      According to the 1900 census they had been married 14 years.

      The New York State death index records her name as Margaret A. Fennie.
